Baldwinsville NY once again held it’s annual Peony Fest on 6/11/11. When I woke this morning, it was cloudy and looked like it was raining earlier. I checked the radar and the rain was moving east so I decided to go. The clouds moved out and turned out to be a nice day. There weren’t a lot of peonies in competition this year. The first year I attended, there were more than 50 entries. This year maybe 10 entries. The weather really affected the crop.
Baldwinsville was the US’ largest producer of peonies from the early 1900’s thru the late 1920’s.
What stunning peonies Jim. I think I would want one of them all. But the pale pink is incredible!
